Traveling Missionary Christmas Choir

This year we decided to use the musical talents of our missionaries to take 10 days for practicing,  traveling together and performing three concerts in Copenhagen, Odense and Aarhus.  They had three days to practice together before their first concert.  It was an amazing experience for all involved.  God blesses his servants and these missionaries were incredibly blessed to pull together such a wonderful concert in such a short time.   All of us, along with the people of Denmark had high expectations and brought many of our friends.   We were uplifted by music celebrating Christ's birth, as well as by the light in their eyes and their testimonies of the gospel of Christ.  ( friend me on FB to see videos).

Elder Baadsgaard and Sister Naylor used their musical and leadership abilities to bring this together.

At a rehearsal before the actual concert...

Elder and Sister Shurtliff, what would we do without this wonderful couple!

Elder Allred was the sound man behind the scenes.  Another great talent!

Homemade cinnamon rolls in appreciation for these hard working missionaries.  They deserve so much more than we can possible give for their service.  We truly love the missionaries in Denmark and Iceland!

Departure of Elder Gudmundson

Elder Gudmundson came to Denmark with several sisters and no Elders.   The sisters left 6 months ago.  We are grateful for his faithfulness, hard work and service.  We had a departure dinner and testimony with a few elders.

Checking in for his flight...

Good bye and God bless you in all you do.  See you at the mission reunion in 2018!

Leadership conference and Sister Conference

We had a leadership conference in Jylland and Sjaelland followed by a sister's conference.  As you can see, they were not prepared for me to take their picture.  I'll try to do better next time.  President is focusing on training current and future leaders.  These missionaries have so much potential to accomplish so much.  Denmark is so blessed to have missionaries who come to submit.  They are willing to focus on Christ-like qualities and desire to change their lives for the better.  We are inspired by their diligence and faithfulness.

Our sister's conference focused on miracles, challenges and how best to overcome those challenges.  We also addressed the topic of "excellence" rather than "perfectionism" in missionary work.  We have strong and effective sisters in Denmark.  We are so grateful for their willingness to serve the Lord and his children.

In Sjaelland, I did better to prepare them for a group photo...

Often, we are so busy that I forget to take pictures...such as the homemade cinnamon rolls they all enjoyed:)  I caught this groups last bite.  We cannot thank the missionaries in Denmark or Iceland enough for their hard work.

We were able to visit our own ward  and take pictures with our missionaries serving there.
The churches in Denmark often look like this one.  This is right around the corner from the mission home.  Denmark is Beautiful and this has been such a nice Fall.  We truly love Den Danske Mission!
